PAG-ASA SEVERE WEATHER UPDATE issued 2:00 AM, 18 December 2017: URDUJA" HAS PASSED IN THE VICINITY OF CUYO ISLANDS AND IS NOW MOVING TOWARDS PALAWAN.



NewPAGASA Weather Forecast as of 5:00 AM today, 18 December 2017.
At 1:00 AM today, the center of Tropical Depression "URDUJA" was estimated based on all available data at 35 km West of Cuyo, Palawan (10.8 °N, 120.7 °E) with maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 65 kph moving West Southwest at 17 kph.

  • Scattered to at times widespread rains will continue over Northern Palawan including Calamian Group of Islands. Residents of these areas must undertake appropriate measures against flooding and landslides and coordinate with their local disaster risk reduction and management offices. 
  • Sea travel is not advised over the seaboards of Palawan.

At 7:00 PM today, the center of Tropical Depression "URDUJA" was estimated based on all available data at In the vicinity of Buruanga, Aklan (11.8 °N, 121.9 °E) with maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph moving West Southwest at 15 kph.
  • Scattered to at times widespread rains will continue over Mindoro provinces and Northern Palawan including Cuyo and Calamian Group of Islands and is expected to prevail over the rest of Palawan. Residents of these areas must undertake appropriate measures against flooding and landslides and coordinate with their local disaster risk reduction and management offices. 
  • Sea travel is not advised over the seaboards of areas under TCWS.

PAGASA Synopsis update issued at: 4:00 PM today, 17 December 2017 .

At 3:00 PM today,the center of Tropical Depression "URDUJA" (KAI-TAK)was estimated based on all available data at 55km South Southeast of Romblon, Romblon(12.1N, 122.4E) with maximum winds of 55 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 80 km/h. It is forecast to move West Southwest at15 km/h.

TD "URDUJA" will bring Rains with gusty winds in the provinces of Mindoro, Romblon, Palawan, Aklan, Antique and Capiz. While Cloudy skies withscattered rainshowers and thunderstorms will be experience in Central Visayas, the rest of Western Visayas and the provinces of Marinduque, Cavite, Batangas, Laguna and Rizal.

Northeast Monsoon will bring Cloudy skies with scattered rains in Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

Eastern Visayas and Mindanao will have a Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to Localized thunderstorms.

As of 5:00 PM today, 17 December 2017 -TD "URDUJA" SLIGHTLY CHANGE ITS COURSE AND IS NOW HEADING TOWARDS AKLAN.

At 4:00 PM today, the center of Tropical Depression "URDUJA" was estimated based on all available data at 65 km South of Romblon, Romblon (12.0 °N, 122.3 °E) with maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph moving West Southwest at 15 kph.
  • Scattered to widespread rains will continue over southern part of Mindoro Provinces, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan, Aklan, Capiz and Antique.Residents of these areas must undertake appropriate measures against flooding and landslides and coordinate with their local disaster risk reduction and management offices. 
  • Sea travel is not advised over the seaboards of areas under TCWS.
  • Meanwhile, at 2:00 PM today, the Tropical Depression outside the PAR was estimated based on all available data at 1,950 km East of Mindanao (4.8°N, 143.6°E) with maximum sustained winds of 40 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 50 km/h.
