PAGASA: Philippine Weather Update for new LPA, 16 January 2018.

A Low Pressure Area (LPA) was spotted 300 km East Southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur issued 4:00 AM today, 16 January 2018.

SYNOPSIS: Northeast Monsoon affecting Northern and Central Luzon. Tail-End of a Cold Front affecting Eastern Section of Southern Luzon issued 4:00 PM today, 16 January 2018.

Trough of the Low Pressure Area will affects and will bring Cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms in places of Caraga, Visayas and the provinces of Masbate, Romblon and Mindoro. Impacts: Possible flooding or landslides due tomoderate to heavy rains

Trough of the Low Pressure Area will also bring Cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms in Palawan and the rest of Mindanao. Impacts: Possible flash floods or landslides due to light to moderatewith at times heavy rains

Tail-End of A Cold Front will bring Cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms in places of CALABARZON, Marinduque and the rest of Bicol region. Impacts: Possible flash floods or landslides due to light to moderatewith at times heavy rains

Northeast Monsoon will also bring Cloudy skies with light to moderate rains in Metro Manila and Central Luzon.

SYNOPSIS: At 3:00 AM today, the Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated based on all available data at 300 km East Southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur (7.8N, 129.0E).Northeast Monsoon affecting Northern and Central Luzon. Tail-End of a Cold Front affecting Eastern Section of Southern Luzon.

FORECAST WEATHER CONDITIONS

Trough of an LPA will now affect Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao and will bring Cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms. It has impact of Possible flooding or landslides due to light to moderatewith at times heavy rains.

Tail-End of a Cold Front will bring Cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms in places of Bicol Region,and rest of MIMAROPA. Impacts: Possible flooding or landslides due to light to moderate with at times heavy rains.

Northeast Monsoon will bring Cloudy skies with scattered rains in Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Aurora, and Quezon.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will experience Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains due to Northeast Monsoon.
