PAGASA Weather Update for New LPA, Monsoon Trough and TD "Dodong" 26 June 2019.

Tropical Depression"Dodong"

Issued at: 4:00 PM 26 June 2019

Valid Until: 4:00 PM Tomorrow

Synopsis: At 3:00 PM today, the center of Tropical Depression "Dodong" was estimated, based on all available data, at 750 km East Northeast of Basco Batanes (22.7 degree N, 128.8 degree E) with maximum sustained winds of 45 km/h near the center and gustiness up to 60 km/hr. It is moving Northward at 30 km/h.  Meanwhile a Low Pressure Area (LPA) embedded within the Monsoon Trough was estimated at 435 km West Northwest of Coron, Palawan (13.2 N, 116.4 E). Southwest Monsoon affecting Luzon and Visayas.

Due to the Southwest Monsoon, cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms will be
expected in places of Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Cordillera, Administrative Region, Cetnral
Luzon, CALABARAZON, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region and Visayas.

"DODONG" HAS SLIGHTLY ACCELERATED WHILE MOVING NORTH-NORTHEASTWARD.

Due to the Southwest Monsoon, light to moderate (monsoon rains) with occasional heavy rains may affect MIMAROPA (Northern Palawan, Mindoro Provinces, Romblon and Marinduque), Western Visayas (Aklan, Antique, western Iloilo, Guimaras and Negros Occidental), and portions of Bicol Region (Masbate and western sections of Camarines Sur, Albay, and Sorsogon) today.

Light to moderate (monsoon rains) with occasional heavy rains may prevail over Metro Manila and the western portions of Central Luzon (Zambales, Bataan, Pampanga and Bulacan), MIMAROPA (Mindoro Provinces) and Western Visayas (Antique and western Aklan) tomorrow.

The weather disturbance is not expected to make landfall and has no direct impact on any part of the country. Moreover, it is likely to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) today.

Location of Eye/center: At 10:00 AM today, the center of Tropical Depression "DODONG" was estimated based on all available data at 705 km East of Basco, Batanes (21.0 °N, 128.7 °E )
Movement: Moving North Northeast at 15 kph
Strength : Maximum sustained winds of 45 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 60 kph
Forecast Position: 24 Hour(Tomorrow morning): 1,380 km Northeast of Basco, Batanes (OUTSIDE PAR)(29.8°N, 131.0°E)

Warning Signal : No Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal

The public and the disaster risk reduction and management council concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next update to be incorporated in the 4 PM Public Weather Forecast and in the next Severe Weather Bulletin to be issued at 11 PM today.
