We can't deny the fact that we are totally in need of the latest technology and far beyond the other. It was because after several experts had already warned the authorities to upgrade the system and reassess the rails of the Metro Rail Transit (MRT-3). They don't make a move knowing that many of our citizens are in at risks.
August 13, wednesday, Santiago's fears were realized after an MRT train overshot its track at the intersection of Taft and EDSA Avenue, that results to large injuries.
“We are looking if it was caused by human error,” said Atty. Hernando Cabrera, MRT-3 and Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) spokesman.
60 trains, which service some 500,000 commuters daily are currently MRT capacity status, way beyond its capacity of 300,000.
