Food and non-food items have already been pre-positioned from affected LGU's.
Social Welfare secretary Judy Taguiwalo said that the P206.36 M allocated budget is for an augmentation assistance to 27 local government units
(LGUs) hit by Typhoon Nina.
The assistance covers a food and non-food items which are as
follows:
- 580,857 family food packs
- 2,459 ready-to-eat meals
- 1,585 malongs
- 885 mosquito nets
- 885 blankets
- 585 dignity kits (towels, toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, feminine napkins and others)
The department’s field office in Bicol has provided an
initial assistance of more than P6 million to the LGUs.
- PHP1.6 million for Albay
- PHP3.1 million for Camarines Sur
- PHP1.4 million for Sorsogon
“To the affected families, you may approach your LGUs. Goods
have already been pre-positioned to them,” Taguiwalo said.
