SYNOPSIS:Trough of Typhoon "Jelawat" affecting Eastern Mindanao. Northeasterly surface wind flow affecting Luzon.

As of 3:00 PM, Typhoon JELAWAT formerly "CALOY" was spotted at distance of 2,180 KM east of Aparri, Cagayan (19.7 N,  142.3 E, OUTSIDE PAR) with maximum sustained winds of 145 KPH, gustiness of up to 180 KPH moving EAST NORTHEAST AT 20 KPH.

FORECAST WEATHER CONDITIONS

CARAGA and Nothern Mindanao will experience cloudy skies withscattered rains and thunderstorms caused by the Trough of Typhoon Jelawat. Possible flooding or landslides due to light to moderate rains to at times heavy rains.

Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region and the provinces of Aurora and Quezon will experience cloudy skies withscattered rains and thunderstorms caused by the Northeasterly surface windflow. Possible flooding or landslides due to light to moderate rains to at times heavy rains.

Metro Manila and the rest ofthe country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to Localized thunderstorms. No significant impact.
