PAGASA Weather Update for LPA and Southwest Monsoon as of 5:00 AM 28 July 2018

SYNOPSIS: At 3AM today, the Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated based on all available data in the 100 km East Southeast of Casiguran, Aurora (16.0 N, 123.0 E). Southwest Monsoon affecting the western sections of Luzon and Visayas. TROPICAL CYCLONE INFORMATION TYPHOON "JONGDARI" LOCATION OF CENTER (3AM): 2, 480 KM EAST NORTHEAST OF EXTREME NORTHERN LUZON (OUTSIDE PAR) (30.7 N, 144.0 E) MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS: 140 KM/HR NEAR THE CENTER GUSTINESS: UP TO 190 KM/HR MOVEMENT: NORTH @ 40 KM/H

FORECAST WEATHER CONDITIONS:

MIMAROPA, Bicol Region and Western Visayas will experience Cloudy skies with  scattered rains and thunderstorms due to Southwest Monsoon/ Trough of LPA. Possible flooding and landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains

Metro Manila and  rest of the country will experience Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to Localized Thunderstorms. Possible flooding and landslides due to  scattered rains or thunderstorms.
