PAGASA Weather Update for New LPA and Southwest Monsoon as of 31 August 2018

SYNOPSIS: At 3:00 AM today, the Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated based on all available data at  415  km East of Guiuan, Eastern Samar (10.5N, 129.5 E).  Southwest Monsoon  affecting extreme  Northern Luzon. TYPHOON  JEBI @ 03:00 AM LOCATION: 2,500 KM EAST OF  NORTHERN LUZON  (17.8N, 145.3E) [OUTSIDE PAR] MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS:   180 KM/H GUSTINESS: UP TO   220  KM/H MOVEMENT: WEST AT 20 KM/H  

 FORECAST WEATHER CONDITIONS:
Visayas and Mindanao will experience cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to Trough of LPA.  Possible flash floods and landslides due to  severe thunderstorms.

Metro Manila and the  rest of Luzon will experience Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to Localized thunderstorms.  Possible flash floods and landslides due to  severe thunderstorms.
