PAGASA Weather Update for Southwest Monsoon and Typhoon Soulik as of 4:00 AM 21 August 2018.

SYNOPSIS:  Southwest Monsoon  affecting the western section of Luzon.   Meanwhile, at  3:00 AM today, the eye  of  Typhoon  SOULIK  was located based on all available data at  1,360 km  Northeast of Extreme Northern Luzon  (27.1 °N, 133.2 °E)[OUTSIDE PAR] with maximum sustained winds of 160 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to  195 km/h. It is moving West Northwest at  20 km/h.

LOCATION OF THE CENTER (3AM TODAY): 2,595  KM EAST OF EXTREME NORTHERN LUZON  (19.2 °N, 146.2 °E)[OUTSIDE PAR]
MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS:  105  KM/H NEAR THE CENTER
GUSTINESS: UP TO 130 KM/H
MOVEMENT:  NORTHWEST  AT 20 KM/H 

FORECAST WEATHER CONDITIONS:

Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Batanes, Babuyan Group of Islands, Zambales and Bataan will experience monsoon rains due to Southwest Monsoon. Possible flash floods and landslides due to moderate to occasionally heavy rains.

Metro Manila, the rest of Central Luzon, CALABARZON, Mindoro provinces, and Northern Palawan will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to Southwest Monsoon.  Possible flooding and landslides due to  scattered rains and thunderstorms

The rest of  the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to Localized thunderstorms. Possible flash floods and landslides due to moderate to occasionally heavy rains or thunderstorms.
