PAGASA Weather Update for LPA as of 05:00 AM 13 January 2020.



ISSUED AT 5:00 AM, 13 January 2020

SYNOPSIS:  AT 10:00 AM TODAY, THE LOW PRESSURE A REA ( LPA ) WAS ESTIMATED BASED ON AVAILABLE DATA AT 615 KM EAST   OF   HINATUAN, SURIGAO DEL SUR  (8.2 0 N, 131.90E ). THIS WEATHER SYSTEM  WILL BRING LIGHT TO MODERATE WITH INTERMITTENT HEAVY RAINS  OVER CARAGA AND EASTERN  VISAYAS. RESIDENTS IN THE AFOREMENTIONED AREAS,  ESPECIALLY THOSE LIVING IN  HIGHLY SUSCEPTIBLE TO FLOODING AND RAIN-INDUCED LANDSLIDES   ARE ADVISED TO TAKE APPROPRIATE ACTIONS , COORDINATE WITH LOCAL DISASTER RISK REDUCTION AND MANAGEMENT OFFICES  (LDRRMO) , AND CONTINUE MONITORING FOR UPDATES INCLUDING THE THUNDERSTORMS OR RAINFALL ADVISORIES,   AND HEAVY RAINFALL WARNINGS ISSUED BY PAGASA REGIONAL SERVICES DIVISION.   THE NEXT ADVISORY ON THIS WEATHER DISTURBANCE WILL BE ISSUED AT 11:00 AM TOMORROW.      

REGIONAL FORECAST

Caraga and Eastern Visayas Cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms Trough of LPA Possible flash floods or landslides due to scattered light to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region,and Aurora will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms  due to Tail End of a Cold Front. Possible flash floods or landslides due to scattered light to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Batangas, Cavite, and Laguna will experience cloudy skies with isolated rains and thunderstorms due to Volcanic Activity. Possible reduced visibility and mudflow during ashfall and light to moderate rains.

Ilocos Region will experience Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to Northeast Monsoon. Possible intermittent strong winds especially in coastal and mountainous areas.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to Localized Thunderstorms. Possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
