Two more FA-50PH fighter jets from South Korea arrived in the Philippines.

3-30-2017| The 4th batch arrival of FA-50s w/ taill number PH007 & PH008 at Clark Air Base.

The fourth batch of two (2) FA-50PH ‘Fighting Eagle’ supersonic Fighter/Surface Attack/Lead-in Fighters Trainer Aircraft (F/SA/LIFTA) with tail numbers Ph007 and Ph008 from South Korea arrived at the Haribon Hangar, Air Force City at Clark Air Base in Pampanga.

These two additional FA-50 supersonic aircraft was flown by pilots from the Korean Aerospace Industries (KAI).The remaining 4 of 12 FA-50PH ‘Fighting Eagle’ will be delivered on May 2017.

These FA-50 "Fighting Eagle" with tail numbers PH007 and PH008 were part of the 12 units acquired by the Philippine government in 2014 by the Aquino administration through the P18.97-B contract it signed with the Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) in March 2015 as part of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) modernization program.

Air Force spokesman Col. Antonio Francisco said the two FA-50PH aircraft was welcomed by Philippine Air Force Commanding General Lieutenant General Edgar R. Fallorina AFP who was also the guest of honor and speaker.

The first two FA-50's fighter aircraft with tail numbers PH001 and PH002 arrived in November of 2015, followed by another pair with tail numbers PH003 and PH004 in December of 2016, then the third batch was delivered on 22 February 2017 with tail numbers PH005 and PH006. The rest of the jets are scheduled to be delivered in September. 

The arrival of the aircraft is expected to further strengthen the fighting and defense capabilities of the PAF.
