2017 FIBA ASIA Cup Updates

The FIBA Asia Cup 2017 will take place from 8 August to 20 August 2017 in Lebanon.

16 Participating Teams will came from (Host Nation - Lebanon; +1 CABA; +5 from EABA; +1 GBA; +1 SABA; +1 SEABA; +4 WABA; +2 Wild Card)

According to FIBA Asia Cup Site, the participating Teams so far are the following:

CABA - Central Asia Basketball Association: Kazakhstan
EABA - East Asian Basketball Association Championship - Participants: China, Korea, Japan, Chinese-Taipei, Hongkong and Macau
GBA - Gulf Basketball Association Championship - Participants: Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Oman
SABA - South Asia Basketball Association - Participants: India, Bangladesh,Sri Lanka, Maldives, Pakistan, Nepal
SEABA - Southeast Asian Basketball Association Championship - Participants: Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Veitnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Myanmar.

The top 7 teams out of 16 Teams at FIBA Asia Cup 2017 will advance to FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 Asian Qualifiers in China.

80 teams from the four regions of Africa, Americas, Europe and Asia which will include Oceania will play in six windows home and away games that will starts on November 2017 to qualify for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 in China consisting of 32 teams. (Host Country - China; +7 from Asia; +5 from Africa; +7 from America and + 12 from Europe)
