PAG-ASA DAILY WEATHER FORECAST: TROPICAL DEPRESSION "SALOME" - 10 November 2017

ISSUED AT:11:00 AM, 10 November 2017 

SALOME CONTINUES TO MOVE IN A WEST NORTHWESTWARD DIRECTION AND IS NOW OVER THE WEST PHILIPPINE SEA.
  • Estimated rainfall amount is from moderate to heavy within the 200 km diameter of the Tropical Storm.
  • Residents over Central Luzon, Ilocos region, Cordillera and Cagayan Valley are advised to be alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides.
  • Sea travel is risky over the western seaboard of Northern and Central Luzon due to rough to very rough seas.
  • Salome is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by tomorrow morning.
  • All Tropical Cyclone Warning Signals are now lifted. 


Location of eye/center: At 10:00 AM today, the center of Tropical Storm "SALOME" was estimated based on all available data including Subic doppler radar at 175 km West of Subic, Olongapo (14.9 °N, 118.7 °E)
Strength: Maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph
Forecast Movement: Forecast to move West Northwest at 20 kph

SALOME HAS MAINTAINED ITS STRENGTH AND CONTINUES TO MOVE TOWARDS THE WEST PHILIPPINE SEA.

  • Estimated rainfall amount is from moderate to heavy within the 200 km diameter of the Tropical Storm.
  • Residents under TCWS #1 as well as Central Luzon and CALABARZON are advised to be alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides.
  • Sea travel is risky over areas under TCWS #1 due to rough to very rough seas.
  • Salome is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by tomorrow morning.

  • Estimated rainfall amount is from moderate to heavy within the 250 km diameter of the Tropical Storm.
  • Residents under TCWS #2 and #1 as well as Central Luzon and CALABARZON are advised to be alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides.
  • Sea travel is risky over areas under TCWS #2 and #1 due to rough to very rough seas.
  • Salome is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by tomorrow morning.
