Man goes missing from a capsized motor banca in Iloilo, PCG continues SAR.
PCG. Coast Guard Sub-station Carles is still on search of a 33-year old man who went missing after their vessel, Motorbanca “Chakchak, capsized at the vicinity waters of Sitio Nabunut, Carles, Iloilo yesterday, December 19.Reports received from Mr Fernan Hermogila, owner of Mbca “Chakchak”, revealed that said motor banca which was loaded with 15 boxes of crushed ice and three persons onboard namely: Ricky Bolahado 18 years old, Rowel Mahusay 22 years old and the victim Johncel Condello 33 years old, all residents of South Gigantes Island, Carles, Iloilo departed Bancal Port bound for Nabunut Island, Carles, Iloilo.
While transiting at the vicinity waters of Nabunut Island, said motorbanca was hit by big waves and strong winds causing her to capsize. Two of them were immediately rescued by a passing motorbanca “Demcel” while Condello was drifted away and went missing.
Personnel of CGSS Carles coordinated with CGSS Estancia to continuously conduct SAR. PCG also advised all nearby coastal barangays and all motor banca/vessels transiting in the vicinity to be on the look-out for the possible sighting and to report immediately to the nearest Coast Guard unit if sighted.
