PAGASA Severe Weather Forecast for TP-Vinta as of 5:00 PM, 20 December 2017.

ISSUED AT:5:00 PM, 20 December 2017  -THE LOW PRESSURE AREA (LPA) EAST OF HINATUAN, SURIGAO DEL SUR HAS DEVELOPED INTO A TROPICAL DEPRESSION AND WAS NAMED "VINTA"

NEW UPDATE: 
ISSUED AT:11:00 PM, 20 December 2017 - "VINTA" HAS SLIGHTLY INTENSIFIED AS IT MOVES WESTWARD OVER THE PHILIPPINE SEA.
TROPICAL CYCLONE WARNING SIGNAL: #1 (30-60kph expected in 36 hrs) - Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Davao del Norte, Compostela Valley, and Northern Davao Oriental.
At 10:00 PM today, the center of Tropical Depression "VINTA" was estimated based on all available data at 605 km East of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur (08.8 °N, 131.8 °E) with maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 65 kph moving West at 20 kph.Forecast Positions: 24 Hour(Tomorrow evening): 130 km East of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur(8.4°N, 127.5°E).
Scattered to widespread moderate to heavy rains is expected over Eastern Visayas, Caraga and Davao Region within 24 hours. Residents of these areas must undertake precautionary measures, coordinate with their respective local disaster risk reduction and management offices, and continue monitoring for updates.Expected to make landfall over Caraga - Davao Region area in between Thursday (December 21) evening and Friday (December 22) morning.
Possible inclusion of Dinagat Islands, Camiguin, Misamis Oriental, and Bukidnon in areas under Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 1 within 6 hours.

TROPICAL CYCLONE WARNING SIGNAL: Surigao del Sur and Northern Davao Oriental (Wave Height: (Open Sea) 1.25-4.0 meters) At 4:00 PM today, the center of Tropical Depression "VINTA" was estimated based on all available data at 735 km East of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur (08.3 °N, 133.0 °E) with maximum sustained winds of 45 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 60 kph moving  West at 20 kph.
  • Scattered to widespread rains is expected over Eastern Visayas and Eastern Mindanao within the next 24 hours. Residents of these areas must undertake appropriate measures against flooding and landslides and coordinate with their respective local government and disaster risk reduction and management offices.
  • Fisherfolks and those with small seacrafts are advised not to venture out over the seaboards of Eastern Mindanao due to the moderate to rough seas associated with the approaching Tropical Depression.
  • Expected landfall between Caraga - Davao Region on Thursday (December 21) evening to Friday (December 22) morning.
  • Possible inclusion to Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal Number 1 of the provinces of Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Compostela Valley, and Davao del Norte.

FORECAST WEATHER CONDITIONS in the Country

Trough of TD "VINTA" will bring Cloudy skies withscattered rainshowers and thunderstorms in places of Mindanao and Eastern Visayas.

Tail-End of a Cold Front will bring Cloudy skies withscattered rainshowers and thunderstorms in places of Bicol Region and Quezon province including Polillo Island.

Northeast Monsoon will bring Cloudy skies with scattered rains in Metro Manila, Ilocos Region,Cagayan Valley, Cordillera, Central Luzon, and the rest of CALABARZON.

The rest of Visayas and MIMAROPA will experience Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to Localized thunderstorms.
