PAGASA Weather Update for TD "LUIS" and Southwest Moonson as of 4:00 PM 23 August 2018.

SYNOPSIS:    At   3:00 PM today, TROPICAL DEPRESSION "LUIS"  was estimated based on all available data at 350  km North Northwest of Basco, Batanes (23.5 °N, 121.1 °E) with maximum sustained winds of 55 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 90 km/h. It is moving EAST NORTHEAST at 15 km/h.  Southwest Monsoon  affecting the western sections of Northern and Central Luzon.   TYPHOON CIMARON STS  SOULIK LOCATION OF THE EYE (3PM):  1,805 KM NORTHEAST OF EXTREME NORTHERN LUZON (32.3 °N, 134.4 °E) [OUTSIDE PAR] LOCATION (3PM):  1,505 KM NORTH NORTHEAST OF EXTREME NORTHERN LUZON (33.6 °N, 125.5 °E) [OUTSIDE PAR] MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS:  150 KM/H NEAR THE CENTER MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS:  105KM/H NEAR THE CENTER GUSTINESS:  185 KM/H   GUSTINESS:  130 KM/H   MOVEMENT:  NORTHWEST AT 25 KM/H MOVEMENT:  NORTH   AT 10 KM/H.

FORECAST WEATHER CONDITIONS:


Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Zambales, Bataan, Batanes, and Babuyan Group of Islands will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to Southwest Monsoon.  Possible flooding and landslides due to  scattered rains and thunderstorms.

Metro Manila and the rest of  the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to Localized thunderstorms.  Possible flash floods and landslides due to moderate to occasionally heavy rains or thunderstorms.
