PAGASA Weather Update for Typhoon OMPONG as of 4:00 PM 13 September 2018.

Tropical Cyclone: WARNING 




ISSUED AT:11:00 PM, 13 September 2018 

TYPHOON "OMPONG" MAINTAINED ITS STRENGTH AS IT THREATENS NORTHERN LUZON.



Typhoon "Ompong" continues to threaten Northern Luzon. Occasional rains and gusty winds will be experienced over the areas under TCWS #1 within the next 36 hours. TY "OMPONG" is expected to make landfall in Cagayan-Isabela area on Saturday early morning (September 15). Moderate to occasionally heavy rains due to southwest monsoon over Palawan, Zamboanga Peninsula and Visayas tomorrow (September 14). The weather condition will prevail in these areas until Saturday (September 15). Fisherfolks and those with small seacrafts are advised not to venture out over the seaboards of areas under TCWS #1, the northern seaboard of Northern Luzon and the eastern seaboards of Visayas and of Mindanao.
Location of eye/center: At 4:00 PM today, the eye of Typhoon "OMPONG" was located based on all available data at 560 km Northeast of Borongan City, Eastern Samar (14.8 °N, 129.4 °E)
Strength: Maximum sustained winds of 205 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 255 km/h
Forecast Movement: Moving West Northwest at 25 km/h

  • 24 Hour(Tomorrow afternoon): 360 km East of Casiguran, Aurora(16.4°N, 125.5°E)
  • 48 Hour(Saturday afternoon):75 km West of Laoag City, Ilocos Norte(18.2°N, 119.9°E)
  • 72 Hour(Sunday afternoon): 680 km West Northwest of Laoag City, Ilocos Norte(20.2°N, 114.5°E)
  • 96 Hour(Monday afternoon):1,365 km West Northwest of Laoag City, Ilocos Norte(21.4°N, 108.0°E)

Polillo Island, Northern Occidental Mindoro incl. Lubang Is., Northern, Oriental Mindoro, Masbate, Marinduque, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, Burias Island, Ticao island and Northern Samar.
