PAGASA Weather Update for Severe Tropical Storm "Hanna" as of 5:00 PM 06 August 2019.

Synposis: At 3:00 PM today, the center of Severe°Tropical Storm "HANNA" {LEKIMA} was estimated based on all available data at 780 km East of Calayan, Cagayan (19.2°N, 128.9°E) with maximum sustained winds of 100 km/h near the center and gustiness of 125 km/h. It is moving North Northwest at 10 km/h. Meanwhile, the Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated based on all available data at 310 km West of Iba, Zambales (15.7°N, 117.1°E).°Southwest Monsoon affecting Luzon and Visayas.

SEVERE TROPICAL STORM "HANNA" HAS SLIGHTLY INTENSIFIED WHILE MOVING NORTHWESTWARD.
  • Tomorrow (07 August), moderate to heavy monsoon rains will be experienced over northern portions of Palawan (including Calamian and Cuyo Islands), Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Romblon, Cavite, Batangas, Laguna, Zambales, Bataan, Aklan, and Antique. Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will be experienced over Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, Central Visayas and Western Visayas.
  • On Thursday (08 August) moderate to heavy monsoon rains will be experienced over northern portions of Palawan (including Calamian and Cuyo Islands), Occidental Mindoro, Batangas, Cavite, Bataan, Zambales, Pangasinan, Ilocos Region. Light to moderate to at times heavy rains will be experienced over Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, and Western Visayas.
  • Residents in the aforementioned areas, especially those living in areas identified to be highly or very highly susceptible to floods and rain-induced landslides, are advised to take precautionary measures, coordinate with local disaster risk reduction and management offices, and continue monitoring for updates, especially the Thunderstorm Advisories and Heavy Rainfall Warnings to be issued by PAGASA Regional Services Divisions.
  • Fisherfolks and those with small seacrafts are advised not to venture out over the seaboards of areas under TCWS#1, the eastern and western seaboards of Northern and Central Luzon, seaboards of Southern Luzon and Visayas, and the northern and eastern seaboards of Mindanao due to potentially rough sea conditions.
  • "HANNA" remains less likely to make landfall on any part of the country.
  • At 10:00 PM today, Tropical Storm "KROSA" outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) was estimated based on all available data at 2,215 km East of Extreme Northern Luzon (18.6°N, 142.5°E). It has maximum sustained winds of 75 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 90 km/h. It is moving Northwest at 10 km/h and is less likely to enter the PAR.
  • At 10:00 PM today, the Low Pressure Area was estimated based on all available data at 260 km West Northwest of Iba, Zambales or 295 km West of Dagupan City, Pangasinan (15.8°N, 117.6°E)
