"AMBO" INTENSIFIES INTO A SEVERE TROPICAL STORM WHILE MOVING WEST-NORTHWESTWARD.
Synopsis: At 3:00 PM today, the center of Severe Tropical Storm "AMBO" {VONGFONG} was estimated based on all available data at 330 km East of Borongan City, Eastern Samar (12.1 °N, 128.4 °E) with maximum sustained winds of 95 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 115 km/h. It is moving West Northwestward at 10 km/h.
AMBO is forecast to further intensify as it approaches the Eastern Visayas-Bicol Region area.

Bicol Region and Eastern Visayas will experience Cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to Trough of STS -Ambo-. Possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to Localized Thunderstorms. Possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms. [1]
