PAGASA Weather Update for Typhoon "Ambo" as of 4:00 AM, 14 May 2020.

"AMBO" HAS MADE LANDFALL OVER SAN POLICARPO, EASTERN SAMAR AND MOVING TOWARDS NORTHERN PORTION OF SAMAR PROVINCE.

Synopsis: At 1:00 PM today, the eye of Typhoon "AMBO" was located based on all available data including those from Guiuan, Doppler Radar at in the vicinity of Oras, Eastern Samar (12.2 °N, 125.4 °E ) with maximum sustained winds of 155 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 190 km/h. It is moving towards the West at 15 km/h.

The eyewall of Typhoon "Ambo" is bringing violent winds and heavy to intense rains over the northern portion of Eastern Samar. Northern portion of Samar and southern portion of Northern Samar will be affected by the eyewall in the coming hours.

ACTUAL LANDFALL UPDATE #AmboPH:
1. At 12:15PM (14 May 2020): The eye of typhoon #AmboPH has made landfall over San Policarpo, Eastern Samar.

- The typhoon is forecast to make landfall over Northern Samar or the northern portion of Eastern Samar between 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM today, before heading towards Sorsogon later tonight. Violent winds and heavy to torrential rains of the eyewall region will begin affecting Northern Samar and the northern portions of Samar and Eastern Samar within 12 hours.

Heavy Rainfall Outlook:

Today (14 May): Heavy to intense rains over Samar Provinces, Masbate, Sorsogon, and Catanduanes. Moderate to heavy with at times intense rains over Albay, Camarines Sur, and the rest of Eastern Visayas.

Tomorrow (15 May): Heavy to intense rains over Bicol Region. Moderate to heavy with at times intense rains over Northern Samar, Quezon, Aurora, Marinduque, and Romblon.

Forecast Weather Conditions:

Samar provinces, Masbate, Sorsogon, Albay, Catanduanes, and Camarines Sur will experience Stormy due to TY-Ambo-. Possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy with at times heavy rains.

Camarines norte, Biliran, and Leyte will experience Rains with gusty winds due to TY-Ambo-. Possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Caraga, Marinduque, Romblon,Southern Quezon, and the rest of Visayas will experience Cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to TY- Ambo-. Possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to Localized Thunderstorms. Possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms. [1]
