As of 5:00 AM today, 16 December 2017 - "URDUJA" HAS SLIGHTLY INTENSIFIED AND IS NOW BEGINNING TO MOVE CLOSER TOWARDS SAMAR ISLAND.



Issued at 11:00 PM today, "URDUJA" HAS SLIGHTLY WEAKENED WHILE OVER THE NORTHERN PART OF SAMAR PROVINCE. At 10:00 PM today, the center of Tropical Storm "URDUJA" was estimated based on all available data at In the vicinity of San Jose de Buan, Samar (12.1 °N, 125.1 °E) with maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 110 kph moving West at 13 kph.
  • Scattered to widespread rains will continue over Central and Western Visayas, Bicol Region, Southern Quezon, Batangas, Cavite, Laguna, Mindoro Provinces, Marinduque, Romblon and Cuyo Islands and is expected to prevail over Northern Palawan including Calamian Group of Islands. Residents of these areas must undertake appropriate measures against flooding and landslides and coordinate with their local disaster risk reduction and management offices. Meanwhile, rains over Eastern Visayas is forecast to gradually weaken.
  • Sea travel remains risky over the seaboards of areas under Tropical Cyclone Warning Signals.
  • Meanwhile, the Tropical Depression outside the PAR was estimated based on all available data at 2,275 km East of Mindanao (4.4°N, 146.5°E) with maximum sustained winds of 40 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 50 km/h.

Cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms with a rough to very rough sea condition, wind force of 52-63 kph/28-34 knots and wave height of 2.8 to 4.5 meters will be observed in the EASTERN SEABOARDS OF SOUTHERN LUZON and MINDANAO
