Tropical Cyclone: WARNING 

ISSUED AT:2:00 AM, 22 July 2018 
TROPICAL DEPRESSION "JOSIE" IS NOW TRAVERSING THE BABUYAN GROUP OF ISLANDS.


Location of eye/center: At 1:00 AM today, the center of Tropical Depression "JOSIE" was estimated based on all available data at 25 km East Southeast of Calayan, Cagayan (19.2 °N, 121.7 °E)
Strength: Maximum sustained winds of 60 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph
Forecast Movement: moving East Northeast at SLOWLY
Forecast Positions: 24 Hour(Tonight): 425 km North Northeast of Basco, Batanes(23.8°N, 123.9°E)
48 Hour(Monday evening):670 km North of Basco, Batanes (OUTSIDE PAR)(26.4°N, 122.9°E)
72 Hour(Tuesday evening): 1,295 km North Northwest of Basco, Batanes (OUTSIDE PAR)(31.7°N, 118.7°E)
WEATHER FORECAST UPDATE:
TROPICAL CYCLONE WARNING SIGNAL #1: Batanes, Northern Cagayan including Babuyan Group of Islands, Ilocos Norte, northern portion of Ilocos Sur, Apayao and northern portion of Abra.

Scattered to widespread moderate to heavy rains will prevail over Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Batanes, Babuyan Group of Islands, Zambales, Tarlac, and Nueva Ecija. 

Meanwhile, scattered light to moderate with occasional heavy rains are expected over Metro Manila, CALABARZON, the rest of Central Luzon and of Cagayan Valley, and Mindoro Provinces. 

Residents of these areas, especially those living near river channels, in low-lying and in mountainous areas are advised to take appropriate actions against possible flooding and landslide, coordinate with local disaster risk reduction and management offices and continue monitoring for updates.

Sea travel remains risky over the seaboards of Northern Luzon and the western seaboard of Central Luzon, especially in areas under Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal #1.
