TD "JOSIE" IS NOW MOVING NORTHWESTWARD HEADING TOWARDS NORTHEASTERN TAIWAN.
Location of eye/center: At 4:00 AM today, the center of Tropical Depression "JOSIE" was estimated based on all available data at 475 km North Northeast of Basco, Batanes (24.6 °N, 123.0 °E)
Strength: Maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 65 kph
Forecast Movement: moving Northwest at 20
Forecast Positions: 24 Hour(Tomorrow morning): 910 km North of Basco, Batanes (OUTSIDE PAR)(28.6°N, 121.5°E)
The Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) will continue to bring scattered to widespread monsoon rains over Ilocos Region, Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Batangas, Mindoro, Palawan, and Western Visayas. While, occasional rains over Metro Manila, and the rest of Luzon and of Visayas. Residents of these areas, especially those living near river channels, in low-lying areas and in mountainous areas, are still advised to take appropriate actions against possible flooding and landslide, coordinate with local disaster risk reduction and management offices and continue monitoring for updates.
“JOSIE” will exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility today (23 July).
NEW LPA OUTSIDE PAR
Meanwhile, at 4:00 AM today, a Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated based on all available data at 1,230 km East of Southern Luzon (OUTSIDE PAR) (14.3°N, 135.6°E). This system may develop into a Tropical Depression in the next 24 to 48 hours.
