PAGASA Public Weather Forecast Update for TD "Samuel" as of 8:00 PM, November 21 2018.

Synopsis:  TROPICAL DEPRESSION "SAMUEL" HAS MOVED SOUTH OF CUYO ARCHIPELAGO AND IS NOW APPROACHING PALAWAN.
Location of eye/center: At 7:00 PM today, the center of Tropical Depression "SAMUEL" was estimated based on all available data at 85 km Southwest of Cuyo, Palawan (10.3 °N, 120.5 °E)
Strength: Maximum sustained winds of 45 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 60 km/h
Forecast Movement: Moving West at 30 km/h
Forecast Positions:
 - 24 Hour(Tomorrow afternoon): 300 km West Northwest of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan(10.8°N, 116.2°E)
 - 48 Hour(Friday afternoon):730 km West Northwest of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan (OUTSIDE PAR)(11.4°N, 112.3°E)

  • Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal (TCWS) #1 over Iloilo, Capiz, Guimaras and Romblon has been lifted.
  • "SAMUEL" is expected to make landfall in Northern Palawan between tonight and tomorrow early morning.
  • Moderate to heavy rains, which may trigger flooding and landslides, are still expected over Palawan including Calamian and Cuyo groups of islands, Aurora, Quezon, Mindoro Provinces, Panay island, and Guimaras. Residents of these areas, especially those living near or in river channels, low-lying and mountainous areas, are advised to take appropriate measures, coordinate with local disaster risk reduction and management offices, and continue monitoring for updates.
  • Fisherfolks and those with small seacrafts are advised not to venture out over the seaboards of areas under TCWS #1, as well as the eastern seaboards of Luzon.
  • “SAMUEL” is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) between tomorrow evening and Friday morning.

MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS: 75 KM/H NEAR THE CENTER
GUSTINESS: UP TO 90 KM/H
MOVEMENT: WEST NORTHWEST AT 20 KM/H

FORECAST WEATHER CONDITION



Romblon, Mindoro, Palawan including Calamian and Cuyo group of islands, Guimaras, Iloilo, Capiz, Aklan and Antique will experience Rains with Gusty winds due to TD "SAMUEL". Possible flash floods and landslides due to scattered to widespread moderate to heavy rains.

Metro Manila, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, Bicol Region and Marinduque will experience Cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to TD "SAMUEL". Possible flash floods and landslides due to scattered light to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Cagayan Valley will experience Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to Northeast Monsoon.  No significant impact.

The rest of the country will experience Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to Localized Thunderstorms.  Possible flash floods and landslides during severe thunderstorms.
