PAGASA Weather Update for STS "Ambo" as of 5:00 PM, 15 May 2020.

"AMBO" SLIGHTLY WEAKENS AND IS NOW APPROACHING REAL – INFANTA AREA IN NORTHERN QUEZON.

Synopsis: At 4:00 PM today, the center of Severe Tropical Storm "AMBO" was estimated based on all available data including those from Daet Doppler Radar 40 km South of Infanta, Quezon (14.4 °N, 121.7 °E ) with maximum sustained winds of 100 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 140 km/h. It is moving Northwestward at 20 km/h.

The eyewall region of Typhoon Ambo is bringing destructive winds and heavy to intense rainfall over the northern portion Bondoc Peninsula in Southern Quezon.

Past landfalls: San Policarpo, Eastern Samar (12:15 PM yesterday); Dalupiri Island, Northern Samar (10:15 PM yesterday); Capul Island, Northern Samar (10:30 PM yesterday); Ticao Island, Masbate (12:00 AM today); Burias Island, Masbate (3:00 AM today); San Andres, Quezon (7:45 AM today).
“Ambo” is forecast to make landfall over Real or Infanta in Northern Quezon between 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM today.

Until Tonight: Moderate to heavy with at times intense rains over Quezon, Marinduque, Aurora, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Metro Manila, Bulacan, Pampanga, Nueva Ecija, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, and Quirino.
Between tonight until tomorrow (16 May) evening: Moderate to heavy with at times intense rains over Cordillera Administrative Region, Ilocos Region, Central Luzon, Nueva Vizcaya, and Quirino.
