PAGASA Weather Update for Typhoon "Ambo" as of 5:00 AM, 15 May 2020.

TYPHOON "AMBO" HAS MADE LANDFALL OVER BURIAS ISLAND AND CONTINUES TO WEAKEN.

Synopsis: At 4:00 AM today, the eye of Typhoon "AMBO" was located based on all available data including those from Virac and Daet Doppler Radars at in the vicinity of Claveria, Masbate (Burias Island) (12.9 °N, 123.2 °E ) with maximum sustained winds of 125 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 165 km/h. It is moving Northwestward at 15 km/h.

The typhoon is forecast to move towards the Ragay Gulf before making landfall over the Bondoc Peninsula in Southern Quezon this morning.

Past landfalls: San Policarpo, Eastern Samar (12:15 PM yesterday); Dalupiri Island, Northern Samar (10:15 PM yesterday); Capul Island, Northern Samar (10:30 PM yesterday); Ticao Island, Masbate (12:00 AM today); and Burias Island, Masbate (3:00 AM today).

Heavy Rainfall Outlook:
Today: Moderate to heavy with at times intense rains over Bicol Region, Quezon, Aurora, and Marinduque.
Tomorrow (16 May): Moderate to heavy with at times intense rains over Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Aurora, and the northern portion of Nueva Ecija.
