PAGASA Public Weather Update for LPA as of 4:00 PM 24 December 2018.

Synopsis: At 3:00 PM today, the Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated based on all available data at 430 km West Northwest of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan (11.0 N, 115.0 E). Tail-end of a cold front affecting Central and Southern Luzon. 
2 LPA is being monitored: 
(1) near to exit PAR West Northwest of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan;
(2) 1,245 km east of Mindanao. Trough is affecting the eastern section of the country. The LPA is expected to enter PAR between tomorrow evening Dec. 25 and Dec. 26 morning. It is also expected to develop into Tropical Depression within next 24-48 hours. When enter PAR and develop it will be named "USMAN". As it goes near the land, it will bring rains to CARAGA, Eastern Visayas, and the Bicol Region.  Expected Landfall: Samar-Bicol on Friday, December 28, 2018.

FORECAST WEATHER CONDITION



Mindanao, Central and Eastern Visayas, and the province of Palawan will experience Cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to Trough of LPA.  Possible flash floods or landslides due to scattered light to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Metro Manila, Central Luzon, and the provinces of Laguna, Rizal, and Quezon will experience Cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to Tail - end of a Cold Front. Possible flash floods or landslides due to light to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Cagayan Valley and Cordillera Administrative Region will experience Cloudy skies with light to moderate rains due to Northeast Monsoon. No Significant impact.

Ilocos Region will expereince Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains due to Northeast Monsoon. No Significant impact.

The rest of the country will experience Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to Localized Thunderstorms. Possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
